What do you get when you team up academy award winning director Alejandro Gonzalez Iñarritu with academy award winning actor Javier Bardem? You end up with a Biutiful piece of art. The movie was nominated for 2 academy awards -Best Foreign Language Film of the Year and Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role for Javier Bardem –and it was honored with multiple awards including Best Actor at the Cannes Film Festival and a Best Foreign Language Film Golden Globe® nomination, the drama based on a short story by director Iñárritu has been hailed as “riveting” (New York Post).

is “Battle: Los Angeles” based on “Ataque de Panico”, the short film?

Rumors on the internet do not confirm nor deny that the big Michelle Rodriguez flick is based on the short. The movie took the top stop at the box office in North America with an estimated 35.5 million over the weekend. The short was directed by Fede Alvarez from Uruguay on a $300 budget. He then sold the rights to Ghost House Pictures for a cool $30 million deal (read article here)
